PragmatIC to build a second printed IC line in the North East

It “provides space for at least four additional FlexLogIC fabs to ramp up production capacity to billions of circuits”, according to the company. “The site will also become the nucleus of a worldwide network of distributed FlexLogIC fabs, which will be deployed to provide fab-as-a-service for customers.”

The company’s first production line is on Net Park in Sedgefield, where the UK’s Centre for Process innovation (CPI) is also situated.

Electronics Weekly as asked for details of PragmatIC Park, which is so far only described as a ‘brown-field industrial site’.

Update: The first production line “will stay at NetPark, Sedgefield for the foreseeable future”, PragmatIC told Electronics Weekly. PragmatIC Park will be 10 miles away on St John’s Road in Meadowfield near Durham.

PragmatIC recently raised $80m in Series C funding, which is said would go towards a second production line – which is to be called ‘FlexLogIC-002’.
